The Antigua and Barbuda Dental Association is thrilled to introduce you to our award-winning Sunny Smiles Project. Our project received an award for the Caribbean from the International College of Dentists and Henry Schein Dental Company. Our mission is to bring preventive dentistry to children in schools with limited access to dental services. Through this project, we aim to provide education, dental care including fluoride applications, and we hope to promote healthy oral habits for young students in Antigua and Barbuda. An important part of this program is collection of data which we hope will assist in planning and policy making in our nation.

Our Impact
At the beginning of our program, we made a movie starring the dentists which we are taking into the Sunny Smile Schools. We wanted to ensure that we have a standard message for all of the schools. The movie which includes graphics, costumes and cavity critters has truly captured the children and solidified our message. Our dedicated team of professionals includes a very knowledgeable nutritionist who teaches the children and adults concerning health food choices. They are all amazed when they see how much sugar is in their favorite drink. We want these children to receive the knowledge they need to maintain a healthy smile for life.
